King Saud University is keen to highlight its interest in environmental aspects, preserving the environment, and fighting pollution by giving priority to environmental awareness activities and sustainability factors for all-natural resources. The University aspires to present its constructive role in creating a healthy environment for all its students, employees, and visitors at KSU campus and its various locations. The university has formed a permanent committee that undertakes all matters of sustainability, environmental preservation, and renewable energy. It spreads awareness among employees on all environmental measurements related to pollution, carbon leakage, and encourages green projects and preservation of the university’s natural resources. King Saud University follows policies and regulations that assure environment protection and preserving natural resources and combating climate change to improve quality of life in its campus which are aligned to the national commitment of Saudi Arabia in protecting the environment, land and sea through planting 10 billion trees and reducing carbon emissions by 2030.
KSU’s Commitment to the National SDG Agenda

KSU integrates sustainability principles across its institutional policies, academic strategies, research priorities, and community engagement initiatives. The university’s efforts span the entire SDG framework—from quality education and health, to innovation, climate action, gender equality, clean energy, and global partnerships.
Furthermore, KSU continuously monitors and aligns its sustainability initiatives with the national performance indicators published on the SDG Portal, ensuring that its local impact contributes meaningfully to Saudi Arabia’s global commitments.
